Goin' to Saint Louis?

Nice young man--I interrupted him reading a Tom Robbins' novel.......he needs $$ to get back to Saint Louis.  Very smart, articulate, well-spoken.  He's on Cary Street if you want to help.  He has been travelling this past year because of our ridiculous way of funding higher education.  He made too much money last year to qualify for financial aid, so he took this year to travel....he hopes to go to UMass Amherst or Wash U in St. Louis.

I'm sure this guy will be alright in the end....but where are our priorities as a nation?  He should be in school.  Although I'm sure he is learning a lot through his adventures in The School of Life [sleeping in alleys, dumpster diving for food, jumping on trains like an extra from "Wendy and Lucy"], I'd rather see him in Biology 101, or the Comparative Literature pre-requisite....

I gave him some $, an ice coffee, and some banana bread.  He didn't want the hard-boiled egg.
